William Donald Patten of Lakeland, GA was the most recent inductee to Georgia’s Auctioneer Hall of Fame at our January, 2019 Winter Conference at Lake Blackshear in Cordele, GA.  The “Georgia Hall of Fame” honors famous or illustrates individuals chosen by the living members of the Georgia Auctioneers Hall of Fame. Mr. Donald Patten was selected because of his excellent qualities of honesty, high ethical standards, willingness to share and teach others. 

Friends, family and business acquaintances may have heard Donald verbalize his principals as follows: “Always trade fair,” “Your word is your bond,” and “An honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay.”

Mr. Patten attended Norman College, Valdosta State College and Piedmont College, before receiving a B.S. in Business Administration and Management. He a kept a “Newer Ending Effort” in regard to his education by attending every possible seminar, to include CAI. He has served as past President of the Georgia Grain Dealers Association and the local Lion’s Club.
