GAA had our Winter Conference this weekend during which we had our Community Fun Auction at Veterans State Park in Cordele, GA. Myers Jackson, GAA President, donated several signed prints that each of Georgia’s Big Peach Classic bidA prospective buyer’s indication or offer of a price he or she will pay to purchase property at auction. Bids are usually in standardized increments established by the auctioneer. calling contestants sold during the public auction. It was announced before each of the offerings that the proceeds from the sale, from each print, would benefit the NAA Auxiliary and he shared a little information about the organization, mission and encouraged GAA Members and guest present to join, support and get involved with the National Auctioneers AssociationAn association of individual auctioneers united to promote the mutual interests of its members; formulate and maintain ethical standards for the auction profession; promote the enactment of just and reasonable laws, ordinances and regulations affecting auction selling; make the public more aware of the advantages of auction selling; and generally improve the business conditions affecting the auction profession. & Auxiliary. On behalf of GAA, Myers thanked those who are members of NAA Auxiliary, including Angela Johnson, for her contributions. The prints sold are named “Unsung Heros” by Joan C. Mangold and are a classic depiction of a 1920’s era auction. Aside from the automobiles in the picture it may look like many public auctions still popular today. The image whimsically captures the energy of auction day, in a multi-ring auction which spreads beyond the confines of the yellow and white striped auction tent. GAA is proud to support the NAA Auxiliary and we’ve included some information below on how to become a member or contact the group for additional information.
